Welcome, gentle surfer.
You have stumbled upon "Rosings", the sliver of cyberspace where I, Vianne, keep my screen captures from adaptations of Jane Austen novels. There are also some desktop wallpapers I've made.
Go ahead and download the screen captures for personal use, but please do not duplicate, sell or otherwise distribute them for any form of remuneration, as they are copyrighted by the respective artists and/or studios. If you use them to decorate your own (non-commercial) site, it would be nice if you would tell me your URL. I could add your site to my Links page, and perhaps you could grant me a link back here? :o) You are welcome to download the wallpapers for use on your desktop, but please don't upload them to your own site (not that you'd want to). If I find that you have done so, I shall be extremely vexed...most seriously displeased...quite put out, in fact! I shall send Lady Catherine to remonstrate with you! ;o)
Please note that this site may be a little slow to load, due to the high number of images present. I have endeavoured to compress these in the interest of speed, without completely sacrificing quality. The result is slightly sluggish load times. I appreciate your patience!
I hope to add captures from (almost) all Austen adaptations in time, including the older BBC adaptations. Check the "Other Adaptations" page for new additions. I've also added an Emma2 page (although there are better sites for this, like Kali's fabulous Emma Adaptations Pages). Most adaptations are represented by now; S&S1 and P&P0 are still missing, as is MP2, but I'm afraid the latter will never appear here. I just plain refuse to make room for Patricia Rozema's hideous mangling of an Austen masterpiece (*shudder*). It is not to be borne! My apologies to those of you who like this adaptation. :o}
Now, about those captions: a couple of people have e-mailed me to tell me that the captions are not faithful to the script of whatever adaptation. I know. They aren't meant to be. Actually, most of them are rather tongue-in-cheek, and are best taken with a grain of salt. Hartshorn will do. ;o)
I should also mention that the screen captures are (unfortunately) no longer in chronological order according to the films. That's because I added to them over time, sometimes due to requests, sometimes out of whim. One day, when I have lots of time, I'll try to reorganize them!
Thank you for visiting Rosings. Do take every opportunity of enjoying yourself ~ you are very welcome!
